Motifs(and also geometric motifs) are created with different kinds of weaving techniques. 1. Mud-Mee(also known as ikat) is a kind of weaving technique. It is so-called because of its peculiar dyeing process, by which the silk threads or cotton yarns are tied in the desired pattern before dyeing and weaving.

2. Koh or Luang(also called the tapestry-based technique) is a kind of weaving technique. Lai-Nam-Laih is a kind of Thai cotton fabric. Multicolor zigzags(motifs) are typically created with koh or luang(also called the tapestry-based technique), which look like the direction of water flow(called lai-nam-laih in Thai) and alternate with bright bands(geometric motifs) of many colors to make a pattern of complex motifs(zigzag and bands).

3. Yok-Dok(also known as damask weaving) is a kind of weaving technique. A decorative design in which gold-etched(or silver-etched) shapes(motifs or geometric motifs) which are created with yok-dok(also known as damask weaving) in this finely detailed gold-etched(or silver-etched) silk brocade fabric.

4. Prae-Wa is a kind of Thai silk fabric. A pattern of complex motifs which is created with three different techniques, including koh or luang(also called the tapestry-based technique), khid(also called continuous supplementary weft), and jok(also known as discontinuous supplementary weft).

5. A squirrel's tail(called hang-kra-rok in Thai) is a kind of Thai silk fabric. That means we take two single yarns and twist them together (or twisted multiple yarns) before weaving. A pattern of this silk fabric which looks like a pattern of a squirrel's tail. Hang-Kra-Rok silk fabrics come in a wide variety of colors, including the light red&dark red textured squirrel's tail(hang-kra-rok) silk fabric and the light brown&brown&dark brown textured squirrel's tail(hang-kra-rok) silk fabric.
